Coach and athlete roles

How coach and athlete accounts work in AtleetIQ – who pays, what each role can do, and how to switch or invite.

Two roles: Coach and Athlete

AtleetIQ has two account types. Your role determines what you see and what you can do.

Coach

  • Pays for the platform – Coach plan (or Organisation/Enterprise) covers your subscription. Athletes you add use the app for free.
  • Manages the program – Create meets, manage entries and results, add athletes, view team and individual performance, assign workouts.
  • Full meet manager – Create meets, set events, manage entries, record results. Works trackside on your phone.
  • Dashboard and analytics – Team overview, performance trends, and gamification (XP, badges, leaderboards) for your athletes.
  • Invites athletes – Add athletes by email or share a link; they sign up and get full athlete access at no cost.

Coaches can have one or many athletes; pricing is per coach (or per organisation in Organisation/Enterprise), not per athlete.

Athlete

  • Free – No payment. Your coach’s subscription covers your access.
  • Personal dashboard – Your stats, PRs, assigned workouts, and meet info.
  • Gamification – Earn XP, unlock badges, appear on leaderboards, build streaks.
  • View-only for program data – You don’t create meets or manage the roster; you see what your coach has set up and your own data.

Athletes are linked to a coach (or organisation). You get the full athlete experience: dashboard, performance, gamification, and workouts.

Signing up

  • As a coach: Go to Sign up, create an account, and choose the Coach plan (or start with a free trial). Then add athletes from your dashboard.
  • As an athlete: Sign up via your coach’s invite link or at Sign up and join your coach’s program. No payment required.

Organisation / Enterprise

Schools, clubs, or federations can use the Organisation or Enterprise tier. It includes the full app and meet manager for multiple coaches or locations. Contact us for pricing and setup. See Pricing for an overview.
